​​​In the spring of 2013, in the Wakefield library, a few local readers and writers sat around the proverbial kitchen table and talked about developing a literary festival to add to the village’s rich cultural scene.

Writers Fete is one of the most anticipated cultural and literary events in the region. We work purposefully to build a linguistically diverse program that showcases local and national francophone, anglophone, ethnic and indigenous literary talent.
 
We are grateful for the extraordinary support of our funders, sponsors, partners, volunteers and supporters who make it all happen year after year.
